Dear Church

I am honored to share this beautiful testimony of how Jesus has transformed my beloved son, Jordan into a fine young man with a deep passion for Christ and great hunger for God's words. Family and friends including Church teachers and his Dare Care Group brothers and sisters have witnessed and observed this amazing on-going change in Jordan over the past year and a half. Praise the Lord!

Before the change:

At church, Jordan had not been interested in many of the Praise Kids programs. He showed bad attitudes during the Praise Kids sessions by not participating in Praise & Worship (even though he loves to sing). He was, in many occassions, being disruptive during preaching time and had shown a lack of interest in all programs including game time. He told me he found the services boring and childish and complained about little things and/or teachers.

At school, he also displayed lack of interest in school work & activities; day dreamt a lot and also picked fights with some of his class/school mates and he was referred to go through counselling for anger management. At home, he was quick tempered and would lose his temper on small incidences.

Jordan was constantly seeking attention from teachers, friends and more so from me, a working single mother who could hardly spend much time with him until the weekend. My long hour job (typical day averaged some 12 - 15 hours) also requires me to fly rather frequently. Feeback from teachers and family members all point to Jordan being an intelligent, brilliant boy with lots of energy and showed passions only on things that he likes to do. He has been tasked with projects outside schoolwork. He liked to think outside the box to get projects/tasks accomplished. He is more interested in subject matters outside the scope of school. I have been praying for a change of behaviour on him. Each time I pray, I boldly accept and claim that my prayers are done deals with God. I believe and trust that Jordan is in the hands of the Lord who will guide, mentor and shower him with all the love, care and attention.

After the transition:

Hallelujah! The transition became more and more apparent since he attended GEMs and spoke more and more of Teacher Ronnie (his preaching, praise & worship) and Teacher Vincent. Both Ronnie and Vincent had been very gracious spending time to speak with Jordan. The message from Ronnie also got him interested in knowing God more and more, that he even asked me if he can serve at church. I told him he could only do so when he is at least 14/15 years old. The transformation was even stronger after Jordan attended his first Dare Camp in Dec 2007. He constantly spoke about Pastor Daniel and his Dare leader, Jay Singh. He told me that was the most exciting and enjoyable camp he had attended. He loved every events and every bit of it. Thanks to the leader and the Dare Ministry for such an inspiring event that attracted many youths. Praise the Lord, Jordan totally fell in love with the church. Since then, he attends most of the Dare services, his Dare care group meetings and most activities organized by the Dare Ministry. Jordan received many encouraging words, support and guidance particularly from Pastor Dan, Jay Singh and his Dare brothers and sisters. He is so committed to the church that he was among the first in the queue to get seats in the auditorium for the sermon. There was one incident when he felt quite upset for oversleeping (due to his tough Rugby training for a school tournament) that he missed attending a Saturday Dare service.

Below are changes I observed in Jordan (just to share the glory of the Lord that has shined upon him):

Hunger for God's words
Very focused on Christ and the Cross...praying for families who are not saved;
Keen interest in many christian songs and bands;
Queuing up even several hours before service (the most amazing one was waking up at 7am on Sunday without Mom's help for wake up call or chauffeur. Besides, he was the first person in the line for an indoor stadium service at 10am);
Pray in tongues after he received the gift of tongues at a prayer session with his Dare Group leader, Jay;
take notes on sermons from Dare Services and Main Church Services;
Reflect on the notes himself or discussed them with either Jay or me when he did not understand the preaching or message;
Brief me on Pastor Prince's sermons when I was unable to attend;
Become even more caring and thoughtful about people around him;
Very generous in tithing, offerings and volunteering at Church (now serving in the Logistic Team for Dare Ministry and the Holy Communion Team in Children's Church);
Take initiatives to lead on his Dare Group's jackets both sourcing the jacket and printing them;
Working to form a band with some of his Dare Group brothers & sisters;
Becoming very cheerful and joyful with more vocal sharing of his thoughts and God's words
Started sending me daily devotional verses via short messages
At school:

More focus on his school work and hands in his work more promptly;
Marked improvement in his school work and results;
Voluntarily assist teachers in doing things and classmates in certain areas he is strong in;
Strong spirit in trying to gain good reputation - does not take no as an answer by trying to get feedback from teachers at school in order to improve.
At home:

Prepare his own meals including the domestic helper's
More respectful and big improvement in his mannerism
Better control of his temper
I am so pleased to see these changes in him and have been sharing them with extended family members, friends and colleagues. I am very thankful to the Lord for using people at New Creation Church to instill great desire and hunger for God's Words. I am also thankful to New Creation Church for the dedicated Pastors (such as Pastor Daniel Pastor Samantha), staff (such as Ronnie Liew & Vincent Goh)and volunteered servers (such as Jay Singh etc just to name a few) who are being used in such magnificent ways by Lord Jesus to inspire, mentor, guide and help my beloved son, Jordan.

I believe Jordan is specially picked by the Lord to not only benefit from HIS messages but also to show others, particularly, non-believers how Gracious our God is ... His deep love and care for us that He sacrifice His beloved Son on the CROSS.

Thank you Jesus for Your Graciousness!

Shalom from a proud and thankful mother,
