Hi beloveds, just felt like sharing something from my blog. Don't worry, nothing is wrong, just felt like some of you might need this. Enjoy...
Sometimes, for no reason at all, you just feel down, and you don't really know why. Ever felt like that? Not that anything is really wrong, not that someone you loved has just died, not that u failed at something. But u felt so low like everything seems wrong somehow, like everyone you loved dissappeared, like you were a failure.
In those times of human frailty, you feel the most vulnerable, bearing a wound so fresh and tender, yet too painful to touch. In those delicate moments, you wish at least someone was around, someone who cared, someone who wouldn't judge you for feeling the way u did. Someone who would kindly hold you eventhough they didn't know what was going on with you.
Oftentimes, being the strong one gets you in trouble when u need a strong one. People always expect you to understand when they are down, but its not very often that they understand when it is you who needs to be understood. Not always fair I suppose, but I guess we are sometimes the victim of our own success. Michael Jackson wanted to heal the world, but no one offered to heal him.
I have learnt the hard way, that when you are down and out, when you are at the lowest point of your life, when you look for that someone, that someone won't be there. That someone won't understand. That someone will tell you that your situation is not as bad as those in Africa and make u feel worse. That someone will tear apart that wound even further. Isn't it interesting that the one you are hurt by is often the one u seek to help close the wound up?
But I have learnt my lessons well. For insanity is defined as doing the same thing again and again expecting a different result. Never again will I find refuge in another mortal. Can a mother find restoration in a child? Will the sun retreat into the craters of the moon? How can one find refuge in the equal, let alone the lesser. Man can never be a refuge for another.
O' but the temptations to do so are so unbearably great! Who would not want to be loved in their deepest sorrow or even in their shallow tantrums. Man cries out, "Love me, hold me, just say everything will be alright!" We all want the tangible, yet we crave for what is itself fallible. All humanity cry for this, yet all are somehow alone, knowing deep within themselves that no one can heal those deep rooted wounds. We are like trees, needing the hands of a greater being to uproot the weeds of discontent and to bind the boughs of weaknesses. We are like sheep in need of the shepherd to guide to green pastures, to quiet waters. We are like little children, needing to be loved not for what we have done, but for who we are.
There is only One who can, only One.
The LORD is close to the brokenhearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
Psalm 34:18
He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.
Psalm 147:3
I have found my hiding place, and as difficult as it may be, and as lonely as it may sometimes get, I will be whole again. I am in the presence of a greater being. I will be looked after with tender-loving care. I will be watered, sheltered and guided. I know I am not alone, and eventhough I walk through this valley of the shadow of death, I shall fear no evil, for I know that you are with me. Amen.
at 2:25 AM
imagine this.
you have a best friend.
best friend is always there.
but you take best friend for granted.
but best friend doesn't mind.
cos he's your best friend.
and you know you can count on him.
but how much do you know about HIM.
all your conversations usually involve you talking about yourself and yourself only.
hardly talks about himself, cos he's just there to lend an ear.
so while you were going out, say, for ice cream or something.
and this huge trolly full of loaded boxes just comes charging at you.
then all of a sudden, you feel a shove. and you were knocked off your feet.
landing on the ground, you don't realise what just happened.
you stand up to realise that your best friend is lying motionless under a pile of boxes.
then you start to think.
"he pushed me away. he saved my life. he took MY place. i'm supposed to be crushed under those boxes."
then you realise how much he can love you, as a best friend. with worldly desires and worldly weaknesses and sins.
but if he, can willingly push you away to safety, while he takes the fall for you, can love you so much,
what more can our Daddy in heaven do for us.
Daddy's free from desires, free from sin, and loves you with all His heart. he can give you anything you want.
anything you desire.
and, refering to the story, that would hurt you alot, to see your best friend lying there.
what more would followers of Christ feel, standing at the foot of the cross.
and, Daddy planned all this to happen. He turned His back on His OWN son. His ONLY son. to be left hanging on the
cross.
He turned his back on his son, so that we can face Him. and call Him father, daddy, abba.
and Jesus cried "My GOD My GOD, why have you forsaken me?"
He cried "my GOD" so that we can cry "My FATHER." or "DADDY."
Jesus broke that barrier.
i don't know how this is related to the story but its just hitting me.
this may not make sense to you at all. but its an awesome revelation. wow.
thats all for me. just wanted to share abit.

DARE -18 July 2009
God is my first love.
Mark 11:22-23
The Lord wants us to use our faith.
Jesus is faith himself, and faith always speaks.
God wants us to proclaim ourselves over our circumstances. (E.g. what subjects we have difficulties in;problems;troubles)
Believe that you will recieve it. Ask like you already have it.
An attitude of thanksgiving is an attitude of faith!
Mark 16:15-18
Share the gospel, it is not our responsibility to get somebody born again, it is the holy spirit's. Our responsibility is just to share the gospel.
When I am praying in tongues, I am praying for my future.
I have the power over demons!!! :)
If you are a believer, just lay hands on the sick and THEY SHALL RECOVER.
GOD IS THE HEALER.
If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can still cast the mountains into the sea.
God has given all of us a measure of faith.
Jesus is the author and finisher of our faith.
Faith is energized by love!
Faith works through love
"Working": Energeo (Greek)
Def:
1. TO be operative, to be at work
Faith-filled life=A life that is Christ-conscious
When you ask, ask with confidence that God loves you.
Romans 5:6-17
Christ died for us when we were still weak and powerless.
God sent his only son for us, to be our atoning sacrifice.
1 John 4:9-10
God's love brings us benefits in our lives, because we have the greatest love and His only begotten son.
We have dominient over sins.
We don't have to subject ourselves to all sinful pleasures today, cause we have the love of God.
To have a faith-filled life, is to live everyday in a water fall of God's forgiveness.
His love is CONSTANTLY forgiving ALL our sins.
When we sin today, God does not hold it against us as we are like a stone under the waterfall -getting cleansed constantly.
Human kind of love is limited, but God's love is LIMIT-LESS!!!
Sin seperate us from God, that's why he gave his only begotten son to us.
God has forgiven us, WITH NO CONDITION!
Where sin abounds, God's love super abounds.
It's looking at Jesus, out atoning sacrifice.
When faith comes, we can ask for all things, and we can get all things.
Idk why ps ben like repeat alot of stuff liddat...
-Krista.

this is what i took down today during DARE
People who are in faith SPEAK/PROCLAIM victory in their circumstances
they say something like "Be removed and be cast into the sea"
Mark 16:17
And these signs will follow those that believe.
In my name they shall cast out devils, and they shall speak with new tongues.
I have the power over devils and evil spirits.
When people pray in tongues, they are praying for their future too.
When we lay hands on the SICK, they WILL recover.
Because we have faith.
Even a faith as small as a mustard seed is enough to cast a mountain into the sea.
We all have a measure of faith in our lives.
It is energized by Love.
God's love.
Don't beg God.
Just ask with confidence that He loves you.
As long as I focus on His love, it will keep energizing my faith.
Romans 5:6-8
While we were yet without strength, in that fitting time, Christ died for us, the ungodly.
That is an extraordinary thing.
While we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Showing His love.
1 John 4:9-10
In this was manifested the love of God towards us,
Because that God sent His only begotten Son into the world,
That we might live through Him.
This is love.
Not the we loved God,
But that He loved us and sent His Son to be crucified for our sins.
The life of Christ is in me.
I don't have to be subjected to sinful habits.
To have a faith filled life is to be in the waterfall of God's forgiveness.
My prayers are answered proportionally to the righteousness of God.
My failures are NOTHING
But for God's favor to ABOUND.
Where sin abound,
Grace SUPER ABOUND
today was quite short ah...or is it just me?

The precious blood of Jesus Christ redeems
Forgiven I'm alive, restored, set free
You majesty resides inside of me
Forever I believe, forever I believe
Arrested by Your truth and righteousness
You grace has overwhelmed my brokenness
Conviect by Your spirit, led by Your word
Your love will never fail, Your love will never fail
I know You gave, the world Your only son
For us to know Your name
To live within the Saviour's love
He took, my place
Knowing He'd be crucified
And You loved, You loved
A people undeserving
awesome isn't it?

I was reading the devotional for today and felt really awed by it that I decided to share it.
1 Corinthians 1:24
to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.
Christ is both the POWER and WISDOM of God to us.
As the POWER of God, He removes obstacles in our paths.
As the WISDOM of God, He continually directs our paths.
Amen :)

I thought I would share with all of you something that I learnt when I was about your age. It was about the great American President Abraham Lincoln (Who enacted the bill for the freedom of the african american slaves). I know how all of you are really sore at not making it through (to be honest, even I was surprised). But you know what was important? What was important was that u guys finally got together to practice. These are just the stepping stones to success. Here, I have listed out the steps the great president had to take before making it as a president, and a wildly popular one at that.
A common list of the failures of Abraham Lincoln (along with a few successes) is:
- 1831 - Lost his job
- 1832 - Defeated in run for Illinois State Legislature
- 1833 - Failed in business
- 1834 - Elected to Illinois State Legislature (success)
- 1835 - Childhood Sweetheart died
- 1836 - Had nervous breakdown
- 1838 - Defeated in run for Illinois House Speaker
- 1843 - Defeated in run for nomination for U.S. Congress
- 1846 - Elected to Congress (m-m-m- monster kill)
- 1848 - Lost re-nomination
- 1849 - Rejected for land officer position
- 1854 - Defeated in run for U.S. Senate
- 1856 - Defeated in run for nomination for Vice President
- 1858 - Again defeated in run for U.S. Senate
- 1860 - Elected President (dominating)
So who knows, your next success might be just round the corner.. but you will never know will you, if u just give up?
Are there any bible stories u can remember where the character failed before seeing success or suffered before the blessing came? Post it up and lets see how many there are..
at 11:12 AM
hey.
as some of you may know, we didnt make it for DGT. shocked me too. i was thinking, why could they say no... how could they say no...
but i heared the awesome voice of God, for the (i think) first time in my life alone, He said,
"Son, it doesn't matter how flashy your things are, how many people are in the band. because you all know that when you first came together, I put a mindset in all of you. to worship Me, not for publicity. I gave you all your talents and your voices just to open up and know that I'm very real and I'm alive in all of you, and I love you with all My heart. Don't fret over this, I have brought this band together to bring you to new heights to make My name known. I want you to keep shooting, and not give up at one failure, for it is a test."
how awesome is that. and i can say to you all that i didnt think that up. (i have no reason to)
well. thats all there is for me

semester 2 = seeing the promises of God come to pass.
Ephisians 2:8-10
8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— 9not by works, so that no one can boast. 10For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
God has no qualifications for His people so they cannot boast about themselves.
The reason why we're blessed with peace, joy, love and forgiveness is because we are born again in Christ.
Greatness is defined by serving the in the house of God. and He makes us strong to serve Him
He makes us great and better Christians.
Faith is the currency of heaven. You put your faith in something and believe it will come to pass and you WILL get results.
the Christian walk is the walk of faith.
temptation is not sin, for it is still in the mind, and you can repel thoughts. but by commiting what is tempted is sin.
(extra thingy)
God took the children of Israel out of Egypt to bring them into the land of milk and honey.
Jordanized translation : He takes good things away to give us better things.
Numbers 13:1-33
1 The LORD said to Moses, 2 "Send some men to explore the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites. From each ancestral tribe send one of its leaders."
3 So at the LORD's command Moses sent them out from the Desert of Paran. All of them were leaders of the Israelites. 4 These are their names: from the tribe of Reuben, Shammua son of Zaccur;
5 from the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat son of Hori;
6 from the tribe of Judah, Caleb son of Jephunneh;
7 from the tribe of Issachar, Igal son of Joseph;
8 from the tribe of Ephraim, Hoshea son of Nun;
9 from the tribe of Benjamin, Palti son of Raphu;
10 from the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel son of Sodi;
11 from the tribe of Manasseh (a tribe of Joseph), Gaddi son of Susi;
12 from the tribe of Dan, Ammiel son of Gemalli;
13 from the tribe of Asher, Sethur son of Michael;
14 from the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi son of Vophsi;
15 from the tribe of Gad, Geuel son of Maki.
16 These are the names of the men Moses sent to explore the land. (Moses gave Hoshea son of Nun the name Joshua.)
17 When Moses sent them to explore Canaan, he said, "Go up through the Negev and on into the hill country. 18 See what the land is like and whether the people who live there are strong or weak, few or many. 19 What kind of land do they live in? Is it good or bad? What kind of towns do they live in? Are they unwalled or fortified? 20 How is the soil? Is it fertile or poor? Are there trees on it or not? Do your best to bring back some of the fruit of the land." (It was the season for the first ripe grapes.)
21 So they went up and explored the land from the Desert of Zin as far as Rehob, toward Lebo [a] Hamath. 22 They went up through the Negev and came to Hebron, where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak, lived. (Hebron had been built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) 23 When they reached the Valley of Eshcol, [b] they cut off a branch bearing a single cluster of grapes. Two of them carried it on a pole between them, along with some pomegranates and figs. 24 That place was called the Valley of Eshcol because of the cluster of grapes the Israelites cut off there. 25 At the end of forty days they returned from exploring the land.
Report on the Exploration 26 They came back to Moses and Aaron and the whole Israelite community at Kadesh in the Desert of Paran. There they reported to them and to the whole assembly and showed them the fruit of the land. 27 They gave Moses this account: "We went into the land to which you sent us, and it does flow with milk and honey! Here is its fruit. 28 But the people who live there are powerful, and the cities are fortified and very large. We even saw descendants of Anak there. 29 The Amalekites live in the Negev; the Hittites, Jebusites and Amorites live in the hill country; and the Canaanites live near the sea and along the Jordan."
30 Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, "We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it."
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, "We can't attack those people; they are stronger than we are." 32 And they spread among the Israelites a bad report about the land they had explored. They said, "The land we explored devours those living in it. All the people we saw there are of great size. 33 We saw the Nephilim there (the descendants of Anak come from the Nephilim). We seemed like grasshoppers in our own eyes, and we looked the same to them."
when we walk by faith, look to our heavenly resources, not earthy ones.
believe that all promises in Christ are yes and amen.
faith sees our God given abilities. not our impossibilities.
if God opened a way of favour, He will prepare you.
People of faith have health, strength and a high Christ esteem.
NEVER see others better than yourself, cos we're all unique. not one of us makes us better than the other.
Numbers 14:1-9
(go read yourself.)
Galations 5:6
Faith is energized by love.
what i feel that impacted me was that Jesus cried "my God, my God" so that we can cry out "Daddy, Daddy".
so cool. to know how far He would go just to save us. even Him taking our place, we were the ones supposed to be punished. torn, cut, destroyed, beaten beyond recognition. He did all that because He loves us, before we even knew Him. He never complained about us turning astray, never complained about us having the wrong perception of Him. we need His love to love others so that they open up to Him, for Him to change them.
thats all i have,
-jordan.

Hey everyone! I am back again.
Well, this person called randomstranger who tagged in my blog these days is interested to know about God. I tried to tell him or her whatever about God the best that i could, including the help of the bible and pastor's previous sermons notes(: But this question really stumped me. I can't seem to answer it... i tried but i think i am not succeeding. And i also am curious to know what is the answer :D help me?
Lets start from the part where the problems began...
RandomStranger: But what makes you sure he is with you? and how does him being without make you unafraid of difficulties?
Amanda :D: randomstranger. He is always with you. I can feel his presence. Because he will help me to overcome them. He put difficulties in your life so you will learn and growcloser to him. (:
RandomStranger: How?
Amanda :D: because he is god. the perfect god who created the world, you and me(:
RandomStranger: i asked how not why.
Amanda :D: randomstranger. He is god, he can do all sorts of thing. i dont know how. why don't you ask god?
RandomStranger: why dont you help me ask him. im not getting a reply from god
Amanda :D: randomstranger. sometimes we don't think we get a reply from him. sometimes we need to go to the church to get an answer... he wants you to have a hunger for his word(:
RandomStranger: your just avoiding the question aren't you?
Amanda :D: randomstranger. well, i can't be perfect can i? Neither i am a pastor... i don't know the answer. I shall ask my teacher and see what he says, i am also interested about the answer too:D
How does God do miracles to us? this may seem an easy question but i suddenly can't think of anything now...
at 6:07 PM
Is the transformer thing still on? :D
oh, how was school these days?
I find them quite boring but you still had fun right! :D
Righto, i dont know what to say already...(:
bye!
